Plan ahead. If relocating to far off destinations it is advisable to book the hotel rooms in advance to avoid inconveniences. Staying with friends or relatives instead of hotel rooms will save expenditure towards lodging.

Tax deductions. Those who are moving because of job placements or job prospects and the destination is more than one hour away; the expenses incurred are tax deductible.
