Water Footprint: Avoiding a “Watery Grave”

Water footprint is the amount of water used by a person or a community within a set period of time. However footprints of individuals and even nations can be calculated in order to determine the quantity of the water being used by that particular country or individual. This concept was developed in 2002 as a component of a largely United Nations effort to increase consciousness about water utilization and to address the safekeeping of the international water supply.
