Solar Air-conditioning: The “Hottest” Alternative

Solar air-conditioning refers to any cooling system that uses solar power for operation. Such type of air-conditioning can be done through passive solar energy or using photovoltaic cells or through solar thermal energy conversion. The feasibility and efficiency of such type of air-conditioning depends on the type of process that is used for cooling purposes. Some methods of using solar energy are inexpensive; however some are not feasible and need subsidization in order to be cost efficient.
